Telford In Harmony Youth Orchestra (TIHYO) is open to any young musician from Years 4 - 13 who plays a standard orchestral instrument.* The orchestra plays a range of different musical styles and genres in a supportive and friendly environment. We meet on Thursdays at Old Park Primary School in Malinslee.
The orchestra has played in many exciting venues and concert halls around the country, including Bridgewater Hall in Manchester and Symphony Hall in Birmingham, alongside regular performances in the community in Telford.
A normal rehearsal looks like this: 3.45 – 4.25: Learning the music in sectionals - instrumental groups (woodwind, brass, strings, percussion) 4.25 – 4.40: Breaktime including drink and snack 4.40 – 5.30: Full orchestra rehearsal

In Harmony Youth Ensemble runs on a Thursday evening in Telford from 5.30 - 6.30pm and is for anyone from Years 6 – 13 playing at Grade 3 standard or above on a standard orchestral instrument. Youth Ensemble members need to be able to read music to a reasonable level. In Harmony Youth Ensemble also performs regularly in different venues across the country.
